Qiviut-Queen yarn & Mill ends Giveaway for May 2013

All Natural Qiviut-Queen Yarn & mill ends lot

This months giveaway is for the lot above 275 grams in 2 & 4 ply's sweetly soft. The mill ends are blends of qiviut/merino and qiviut/angora rabbit, some little skeins of pure qiviut all from the bobbin ends that we spin almost daily. Been knitting a lot lately with the qiviut-queen. It has a delicate soft handle and makes for wonderful socks, mitts, scarves, hats, shawls and even sweaters. The yarn has plenty of twist so the socks stay perfect and intact !
Here's a Tundra Fern scarf i knit from the qiviut-queen in Raspberry colorway. To buy the Tundra fern knitting pattern go here:

And more socks....

Been working on a new Top down sweater too from the qiviut-queen but its not ready to show yet because i'm busy test knitting my Brae shawl design....knit from shetland and qiviut yarn. Got to make sure my pattern is perfect ! Sold out of the pattern and all our 100% qiviut at the Toronto knitters Frolic....was a fun day....but an exhausting day met some wonderful fibre-holic-friends !

The next show for us is Twist....right here in quebec ! a wonderful weekend at a lovely hotel with great food, great wine and great company !
To visit their site go here: www.festivaltwist.org

What would you knit or crochet with the 275 grams of yarn ?

Open to everyone world wide.

  1. Great to see your post for purchasing the scarf pattern; could we have the smoke ring pattern now? Or maybe a kit? Thanks and I'm putting in for the drawing.

  11. I've been looking for the perfect yarn to knit a scarf version of Carole Sunday's pattern 'Pachelbel' . Then with the rest I would share with fellow Kiwi knitters. Such a once-in-a-lifetime good fortune ( if I won) needs to be shared.

  17. I was fortunate enough to be visiting Toronto during Knitter's Frolic and I had a chance to stop by your booth on Saturday. I love working with your yarns, especially the natural colours. I purchased two skeins of Frolic as a treat and one of Shetland Sock to turn into a pair of socks for myself. With the mill ends I would probably knit some extra special socks for my Mom who doesn't get around very well anymore and her feet are always cold. Other than that, I would love to be able to share your yarns with my family by knitting them scarves, hand warmers, socks and cowls. They love to receive my knitted items and always give them a very kind and loving home where they are appreciated.

  44. I'd use the Queen Sock to knit with the other 3 Queen Sock skeins from the Frolic. My knitted Spotted Giraffe Cowl was almost claimed by my spouse, so I'd make him one. I'm expecting a second child in January so I'd use the rest to knit a matching big brother, new baby hat, and an outfit for the baby to keep warm on the way home from the hospital. If I had any leftover I'd snuggle it, which is what is happening to my current leftovers, until they become baby booties!

  45. There is a new2 grandson who would look cute in a qiviut/angora hat next winter. I was very attracted to the gloves you had at the Knitters Frolic in April. My daughter would treasure a pair of those.

  48. I would crochet some lovely fingerless gloves/arm warmers. Maybe make a gift of them for my mom!

  49. I've always been tempted to knit random "ends" into a sweater, with all the colours running into eachother. I am frugal so I will buy your 4 ply yarn and knit it into a sport weight garment. I could get a short sleeved shirt out of 275 grams. I'm the knitter who will buy different dye lots for a sweater and insert random odd lots here and there. See you at Twist!
